Big copyright fight coming up for Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Kenny Rogers, members of the Village People, and a ton of other famous musicians. It seems that the copyright to songs written after January 1, 1978, even though turned over to publishers, can revert back to the artists after 35 years. And the artists are lining up. They have to give notice two years before, and they’re putting their publishers on notice. The publishers are trying to claim, “work for hire”. Good luck there. With hundreds of millions, if not even more money is involved, this will definitely be an epic battle to watch.
