It seems that the copyright to songs written after January 1, 1978, even though turned over to publishers, can revert back to the artists after 35 years. And the artists are lining up. They have to give notice two years before, and they\u2019re putting their publishers on notice. The publishers are trying to claim, \u201cwork for hire\u201d. Good luck there.
