Dear Ms. Ricci:

Team Pilfered Magazine has a new post up which unfortunately, we can’t quite seem to understand. http://www.pilferedmagazine.com

All of our combined years of schooling and tuition seem woefully inadequate.  Sure there is the distracting photo of a beautiful woman next to the new post – did we mention she’s topless also? – but we got past that and can’t make heads or tails out of the statement issued with “Love” to us all. I do hope we can work it all out.  In the meantime we have a request for one of Pilfered’s Guest Editors – you.

You see, both of us love your work.  What a Filmography you have?  According to IMDb, 55 projects and another 48 appearances as yourself!  Seriously, wow!  What we are thinking is that we would just like to copy say 5 or 6 of your films without paying you.  Jack and I have been fighting about which ones so it could be as many as 12.   Anyhow, we have this problem and we need your help.
Now we do know that at the beginning of these movies there’s that FBI statement about copying, big fines and something about the Copyright Law, Title 17.  We also know that the producers, directors, other actors, lawyers and all the “little people” in craft services and so on might not want to give us permission to copy the movies for free.  They are so yesterday!  But we assume that since you were working on Pilfered, you would have no problem letting us rip you off without paying.  Jack insisted that we ask you as a “courtesy”.  He is such a wimp, even thinking about courtesy.  I said it wouldn’t be necessary since you were apparently “editing” copyrighted works obtained without the creator’s permission for a publication celebrating copyright thievery anyway.  How could you possibly object when it came to your work?  Jack is much taller than me so I backed off.

So here’s the deal, give us the OK to steal your stuff for free and then we will get the consent of all the other people who worked on your films to do likewise.   Think they will give it?  True its tougher for a movie or TV show because you have so many so called “creative people” to worry about.  When a photograph is ripped off at worst, you only have to deal with a single photographer and maybe a model. Besides, photographers never have “staff copyright lawyers”, so what’s the worry?.

Do you know if Pilfered used a form letter to get consents for use of copyrighted materials from their creators?  If you can see your way clear to give us your consent and pilfer one of the “Pilfered” forms that we can use to crib off, that would be awesome.  Photographers and actors are artists, and we artists have just got to stick together.
One more question please – when your films that are currently in production come to my local theater, will there be a charge to see them?

Looking forward to hearing from you real soon.

Ed & Jack
