It should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed our columns or attended our lectures, that amateurs have helped to kill off professional photographers, especially photojournalists.  CNN has now joined a laundry list of other publications (yes, TV networks are publishers publishing content) in swapping out the pros for the novices. See this article. It’s about CNN laying off about a dozen photojournalists because of viewer generated content, citizen journalists.
